Wildlife Identification Number (WIN)
To purchase hunting and fishing licences in Alberta you will need a WIN. It is valid for 5 years from date of purchase and costs $8.00 CDN. Go to www.albertarelm.com/createHFProfile.do to create a new account. Once you have completed you will be given a number and a WIN card will be sent to you. The number is what you will need to buy your licence and tags.

Entry into Canada
You are required to have a passport to enter Canada. Make sure that yours is current for the dates of your hunt. If you have a criminal record or even a DUI you may be denied entry into Canada. Check with Canadian Border Services (1-800-461-9999) in this case.
When bringing a firearm into Canada you must fill out a Resident Firearms Declaration form. You will need to present it to the customs agent at your first point of entry into Canada in triplicate and unsigned. There will be a $25.00 CDN fee that is not included in your hunt fee.
