Mule Deer Hunts

Mike GabbaArchery

This is a 6 day action packed spot and stalk hunt for trophy class Mule deer in the foothills of Alberta. We offer our archery hunts in September and October when the bucks are still lounging in bachelor groups. High deer populations ensure that you will see plenty of deer every day and have the opportunity to stalk 150-190 class deer, often with multiple stalking opportunities in a day. It is a fun challenge sneaking up on these big Mule Deer. Shot distances range from 30-60 yards. Clients in the past have enjoyed 100% shooting opportunity.

Archery Mule Deer can be done in combination with trophy Antelope, archery Elk and Black Bear.

Rifle

Southern Alberta has become one of the premier destinations for trophy Mule Deer because of the mild winters, prime habitat, good genetics and a management system that allows the Mule deer a chance to grow to maturity. Only a limited amount of tags are given out every year to both residents and Non-residents. Rifle season starts October 25 and runs until the end of November, encompassing the rut. This is a 6 day spot and stalk style of a hunt conducted on foot from a vehicle. High deer populations ensure that you will see plenty of deer every day. Clients in the past have enjoyed 100% opportunity at 160-190 class deer.

Trophy Antelope, Elk or whitetail can be done in a combination with the rifle Mule Deer.
